Monday Post :)

How does your family support your weight loss efforts?
My family is supportive in my weight loss efforts, but at times they are the ones who want the junk food in the house so I have to just be strong and stay away.  I do most of my workouts during the day when my husband is at work and kids in school so that's a big plus.  Another way they support me is eating the same food as I when it comes to meal times.  So there is no cheating on my part.

Nothing new and exciting going on in my little part of life here in Maine.  Just busy getting ready for Christmas and keeping up with my running at the Y.  I really need to get into a weight workout which I think maybe my new years thing..  I'm still weighing in at 156 which I have been for almost a the whole month of November given what I gained over the holiday.  I still want the goal of 150... Will try so hard to get that!

Tis the season for eating.. And I'm really trying to be good in my eating this holiday season.  I skipped all the pies and goodies, but I think I replaced it with lots of wine.. :) See what hosting Thanksgiving for the inlaws, friends and my own family does to me???

All in all I gained one pound.  I'm proud of that and I know this week I will lose it with my workout and badminton.

What are you thankful for in your life?

My family especially my two kids and my husband.  Without them, sometimes I don't know what I would do with all the free time I have.. lol :) All kidding aside, they are amazing part of my life. I'm thankful for being healthy and active this last year.  I'm also thankful for my amazing friends.  I have moved across country twice now and it seems that the "good" ones never lose contact with me.  And lastly would have to be Andrea.. Without her, I would be lost.  She is amazing and I love her!!!

Monday Post

What kind of activities have you done with a pedometer on?

I don't use a pedometer.. Is this wrong?  I have never owned one but now I'm starting to think that I should after reading the monday post.  I have to wonder how many steps I do during the day.. :) Off to research Omron pedometers..

Things have been pretty good in the Maine.  The weather has been great and I'm getting out to the gym daily.  Between badminton and working out in the gym I have been very happy!  I have a workout partner which is making it even better.  He and I weigh in at the gym every Wednesday on a "dr" scale.. Thinking of joining Zumba too.. It's free for members of the YMCA.

Breaking Dawn movie on Friday!!  Saving lots of my calories for the popcorn!!  :)

It's been a while...

And I really don't have a good excuse for not being around, expect being busy and not giving myself enough me time.. But I need to change that..

Since my last post I have had my parents visit Maine for the first time since we moved here in July.  I spent a week showing them around and eating some great Maine food.  There was Halloween and it was such a success here.. Kids got some yummy candy, but I have past on much of it.  Currently my friend Andrea is visiting from the state of Washington with her kids.  We are having a great time around town and spending quality time together just chatting.  Last night we had maine lobsters!  This was her first time eating it and I think it was a hit! :)

Working out is still happening.  I have decided not to do this 2weekchallenge that's going on right now.  But that's not stopping me from being active.  I still do badminton at the YMCA M-W-F along with the other days I do some type of weights or jogging there also.  I got a workout partner who is a stay at home dad, so we are motivating each other you can say.. My last weigh in was 160.6 and today it's 156.6 so that's a 4 lb loss and below my goal of 160!!  My next goal is 150... :)

How has Type II diabetes affected your life?
Personally in my household it doesn't effect me however I do know someone that I used to work with who had it, but she controlled it with diet and medication but no insulin shots.  My mother also has it and controls it the same way.  I know with my mother diagnoses it worries me that I could get it, so I do make sure to get checked when I'm at the doctors.

Oh Monday... we meet again

Why are Monday's so hated?  Everyone loves Fridays and the weekends.  I just feel bad for poor Monday's.. I don't dislike Monday's so much as I used to when I worked.  But at times I give Monday's a hard time cause I have to get the kiddo's out the door on a timely fashion.  However when Tuesday comes they are up and ready to go..

I haven't been weighing myself because my lovely friend Andrea is on a "no scale" strike and I love her so much that I support her.  And I have taken this same strike, however I crossed the line and went for the evil scale on Thursday.  You probably ask, why Thursday, well it was my 35th birthday and well I was feeling blah about myself and my parents were driving to Maine to visit and there was drama, so instead of eating I went for the scale.  And to my surprise, I liked the number.. 160.6!  I was so happy because  that's .6 from my small goal of 160!  After I get belong 160 I'm going to set another goal, which I haven't decided on yet.. But I sent Andrea an email and she was so happy and still supportive of me.. Well needless to say the scale is yet again put away..

Question: What parts of your body are you especially proud of right now? What makes you love them?

My legs.... I was into sports in high school and developed a ton of muscle in my legs and still have it.. I think walking and running has keep it going.  Now if I could only get some tight muscles in my butt!  I lack a butt.

Monday Post

I have been missing in action from here and I'm not really sure why.. I think I just needed to step back and look around.. And I did and well I'm still feeling blah.. The last two weeks have been emotional to say the least.  Between the kids school, husband, family and well not seeing the numbers on the scale I just get feeling like I'm doing something wrong.  I have all the motivation and support from an amazing friend and my mamavation support system, but why can't I just reach those goals that I set for myself.

I'm doing the 2 week challenge and loving it still.  I hope to at least see 1 inch removed.  It feels great doing it and I look forward to it.. I'm starting back to working out at the gym this week.  At least twice a wee and a little at home on the WII.. Also joined the Brita challenge.  Cause we all know that we need more water in our daily lives.. Did you join?

So here is to a good week.  I just want to get healthy I don't need to be a size 6 but it would be nice!

Have a great week everyone !:)

Monday, Oh we meet again...

Since moving to Bar Harbor Maine in July, I have become a stay at home mom.  Something that I dreamed about ever since the twins were born.  It's a hard job, but rewarding too.  Since the twins started K, I have been more stressed then ever.  Makes me wonder if I should have just stayed working!  The princesses seems to adjusted to school and tells me everything she does in school minute by minute.  The prince, well loves school but the adjustment is a hard one.  He is very hyper, active and has issues with listening hence the reason for me to be stressed.  We have meltdowns, he and I both.. lol  BUT all in all he loves school, loves his teacher but just can't understand that he needs to sit.  I just keep reminding both of the kids, to be good, nice and listen.  I hope it works, cause I want a less stressed week..

No weighing in this week for me.  I was rushed this morning with the kids and the next thing I know I'm drinking and eating.  To late for the scale.  I hope to see results, but I'm thinking that blue berry ice cream I bought on Friday is going to be evil for me.. Yes I bought it and now I'm suffering..  My non-scale goal this week is NO ICE CREAM!

Only one more day of Grunt Style 2 week challenge.. I'm happy that I was able to do this but I'm looking forward to it being done!  Still doing badminton Monday and Friday's at the Y.  It's a great way to burn calories.   Going to still do the weights every other day at the Y and still doing the EA sports.  I have to say I like working out..

How are you planning to change up your workout as summer ends?
Going to do more of the EA sports at home and other Wii fit stuff.  I'm really enjoying the badminton at the Y so that hopefully will continue.
